The Optimum Developer's Toolkit, Intel® XScale® Edition is a global development tool built to help developers rapidly create new and sophisticated 32-bit applications for traditional and specialty market segments on the Optimum platform. This toolkit supports application development in both C and C++ and is comprised of industry standard development elements.
Application Development
- Adaptive Application Environment (AAE) allows applications to interact with each other at very high levels allowing card acceptance terminals to behave as single, highly integrated solutions, not as a multi-application terminal running a grouping of disparate applications
- Hypercom Foundation Class Library (HFC), a set of C++ library modules, provides an object oriented (OO) framework for the development of Point of Sale (POS) applications, which affords developers flexibility and extensibility while reducing development times
- Application migration to the Optimum platform for Hypercom 8-bit and competitors' terminals is provided through standard libraries and sample applications
Industry Standard Development Elements
- GCC, the GNU Project compiler, provides many levels of source code error checking traditionally provided by other tools and can perform many different optimizations to the resulting object code
- GDB, the GNU Project debugger, provides the developer with the ability to download their application to the terminal and debug the application over a TCP/IP connection
- The IDE, based on Visual SlickEdit® 9, provides a rich set of coding tools for organizing, analyzing, and working with code, file and directory tree differencing and 3-way merge editing
