The Hypercom Developer’s Toolkit, Optimum edition is a global development tool built to help developers rapidly create new and sophisticated 32-bit applications for traditional and specialty market segments on the Optimum platform which offers the broadest range of terminal products in the industry. This toolkit supports application development in both C and C++ and is comprised of industry-standard development elements.

Application Development

  • On-Demand multi-application enables all applications to run independently, which ensures optimal performance
  • Adaptive Application Environment (AAE) allows applications to interact securely with each other at very high levels enabling Hypercom card acceptance terminals to provide a truly collaborative approach to multi-application
  • Hypercom Foundation Class Library (HFC), a set of C++ library modules, provides an object-oriented (OO) framework for the development of Point of Service (POS) applications, which affords developers flexibility and extensibility while reducing development times
  • Application migration to the Optimum platform for Hypercom 8-bit and competitors’ terminals is provided through standard libraries and sample applications

Industry Standard Development Elements

  • GCC, the GNU Project compiler, provides many levels of source code error checking traditionally provided by other tools and can perform many different optimizations to the resulting object code
  • GDB, the GNU Project debugger, provides the developer with the ability to download their application to the terminal and debug the application over a TCP/IP connection
  • The IDE, based on Visual SlickEdit 2007, is an award winning, rich set of tools for organizing, analyzing and working with code, file and directory tree differencing and three-way merge editing

Support

  • Hands-on training classes for individual developers and development teams provide detailed instruction on the fundamentals of the Optimum architecture to best leverage its capabilities
  • Technical Support is provided through an online portal where developers can securely report issues, get answers to frequently asked questions and download the latest software and documentation.
